For this piece, I obtained rare access inside one of the world's few biosafety level 4 labs—basically Supermax facilities for the deadliest pathogens and viruses like ebola and SARs. Here, scientists don state-of-the-art protective gear to research emerging diseases and prepare for the next pandemic.
